Chainmonsters aims to redefine the way players think about their progress and the items they obtained, and we highly value the time players spend playing the game.
Playing Chainmonsters helps onboard traditional gamers as we connect and celebrate many NFT/blockchain mechanics in the background. New players will not realize that they play a game empowered by NFTs/Blockchain until they are well prepared and ready to dive into the advanced concepts like a player driven economy, NFT ownership and special, exclusive blockchain mechanics.
NFTs
There are many different types of NFTs and tokenized assets in Chainmonsters:
- exclusive, limited cosmetics (e.g. Crystal Chainmon skin) https://youtu.be/5Ibyxw0rrGI
- in-game resources like crafting and upgrade materials
- exclusive LAND in the form of islands (to be launched on Immutable)
- displaying NFTs from other projects in their homes and islands through “Metaverse frames” visible to anyone else
Throughout the years we have experimented with various mechanics that make players earn NFTs through gameplay and have taken these approaches to implement NFTs:
- a Season Pass, where some rewards are NFTs
- Crafting mechanics where lower-grade materials can be upgraded and turned into an NFT for other players to consume
- a Mint Token (not an actual token but an in-game item) that is required to mint Chainmons into NFTs, with exclusive achivements and content in-game, rewarding players for experimenting
- Caught Chainmons with their various unique stats and traits including super rare variations (Chroma)
We are also looking at additional NFTs mechanics including but not limited to:
- Tournament rewards (special skins, cosmetics)
- Join forces with esports teams to celebrate wins
- Highly limited event-based celebrations
